What is style?

In looking over the course, I would have to agree with the ancient Greeks whom thousands of years ago described style as writing with persuasion. While we write we are trying to convey a thought or idea. We are trying to get our audience to understand what it is we are trying to convey. Whether we want them to actual take action, take on our opinion, understand our point of view, or externalize information style allows writers to connect with their readers in a meaningful way.

There is too much regarding the actual elements behind style to get into all of that, but basically when all of the elements are used correctly writing contains correctness, appropriateness, clarity, and ornaments. All of these elements are essential for writing in a meaningful manner.
